How We Got Here
Back in early 2019, my co-founder and I were working at a large software firm in Canberra. We kept seeing the same pattern: clients would come in with specific needs, and they'd leave with generic solutions that sort of worked but never quite fit.
The breaking point came when a local healthcare provider needed a mobile app for patient scheduling. The big firm wanted to push their standard template. But the client needed something that worked with their existing systems, their workflow, their actual reality.
So we left. Started gleamsys with the idea that every business deserves software built for their specific situation—not adapted from someone else's requirements.

How We Actually Build Things
Most developers will tell you about their "agile methodology" or "best practices." We're more interested in solving your problem than impressing you with terminology.
We Start With Questions
First meeting? We're asking about your workflow, your team, what's driving you mad about your current setup. Not trying to sell you anything yet.
Small Pieces First
We don't disappear for months and come back with finished software. You get working features every two weeks. Test them. Tell us what's wrong.
Real People Available
When something breaks or you need changes, you're talking to the same developer who built it. No ticket systems or overseas support teams.
The Team Behind Your Project
We're a group of eight developers and designers who've been working together since 2019. Most of us came from larger companies where we got tired of treating clients like ticket numbers.
Everyone here has at least seven years of mobile development experience. More importantly, we've all worked directly with clients—we know how to translate "it needs to feel smoother" into actual technical improvements.

Vesna Thornhill
Lead iOS DeveloperVesna's been writing Swift code since Apple released it in 2014. She previously led mobile development for a fintech startup in Sydney before joining gleamsys in 2020. Most of our healthcare clients work directly with her because she's exceptionally good at explaining technical limitations without making people feel stupid.
